Full-stack product · compliance-aware operations
Make a high-stakes application journey clearer, safer and operable.
Visa Platform is an independent travel-authorization assistance product concept for ESTA, eTA and ETA-style journeys. It connects multilingual guidance, structured application capture, document checks, transparent fees, payment state, customer communication and operator fulfillment in one system.
The product problem
Travel authorization is not just a form. A useful service has to reduce uncertainty without implying government affiliation, collect sensitive information without losing control of it, separate government fees from service fees, handle families and groups, support multiple languages, and give operators a reliable path from payment to fulfillment.
The platform demonstrates how I approach that kind of product: map the customer journey, turn policy and legal requirements into interface and data contracts, then connect the front-end experience to payment, identity, email, queue and operator states.
Traveler value
Clear guidance, a structured wizard, document checklists, visible fees, status communication and support-oriented next steps.
Business value
A controlled service workflow where paid orders, consent, fulfillment, refunds, monitoring and audit evidence are visible rather than scattered across inboxes.
The system behind the simple journey
- 01 / DISCOVERRoute the traveler to the right productLocale-aware content, product data and eligibility guidance support ESTA/eTA/ETA-style offerings without presenting the service as official.
- 02 / CAPTURECollect an application through a guarded wizardReact Hook Form, Zod validation, structured applicant data, family/group flows and document requirements reduce avoidable errors.
- 03 / DISCLOSEMake consent and fees part of the decisionIndependent-service, terms, privacy and fee acknowledgements are captured before payment; government and service fees remain distinct.
- 04 / PAYConnect checkout to durable order stateStripe checkout and webhook handling feed payment status, idempotency, audit events and the operator queue.
- 05 / FULFILLGive operators a real workflowAdmin states, needs-information loops, internal notes, fulfillment timing and customer emails turn a purchase into an operable service.
- 06 / MONITORWatch for policy and runtime changeScheduled jobs, source scraping, semantic comparison, security controls and retention governance create a maintenance loop rather than a one-off form.
Where the engineering shows
Full-stack architecture
Next.js server features, API routes and server actions sit alongside Prisma-backed persistence, authentication middleware, transactional email, payments and background processing.
Compliance as product design
Independent-service disclosure, no-guarantee language, pre-payment fee breakdown, consent snapshots, privacy routes and refund operations are treated as user-flow requirements.
Security and data handling
Repository controls include CSP and security headers, rate limiting, sanitization, AES-256-GCM field encryption and key-rotation support for sensitive application data.
Operations and failure states
Payment replay, invalid signatures, queue health, manual fulfillment, email delivery, data retention and rollback are designed as explicit launch evidence rather than implied by a successful build.
Why it is commercially interesting
This is a useful example of product work at the boundary between conversion and governance. The interface must feel simple, but the underlying system has to be precise because a confusing disclosure, duplicate payment event, missing status transition or lost support message becomes a customer and compliance problem.
- Strong fit for service businesses that need a guided intake-to-fulfillment workflow.
- Shows how legal, payment and operational constraints can become concrete UI and state-machine decisions.
- Demonstrates a path from a consumer-facing landing page to authenticated application, admin operations and scheduled maintenance.
- Supports multilingual expansion without treating translation as an afterthought.
Current status: a substantial product prototype with documented launch, legal, support, infrastructure and external-evidence gates. It is not presented as a live government service, an official application channel, a guarantee of approval or a fully launched commercial operation.
